Heroes Answer the Call: Alhambra’s SuperHero Summer Fest Returns!

SuperHero Summer Fest, a free event will return June 15th to Alhambra! Festival Director Dahveed Kolodny-Nagy, owner of multimedia company Smorgasbord Productions and Alhambra-based business TOY-ZILLA Collectibles Store was available for comment. “It is rewarding to see how many of our local celebrities are supporting this important event. They understand the importance of recognizing strong role models in our community: law enforcement, fire fighters and teachers. Heroes come in all forms.  Anyone who inspires positive action through words or performances makes our community stronger.” 

This year’s event will be directed by Nerdbot Media, known for their popular live-stream shows and Pasadena conventions, Nerdbot-Con and Anime Pasadena.  Nerdbot brings out their biggest celebrity cosplayers to portray the biggest SuperHeroes from Batman to Spider-man through downtown Alhambra. Look forward to Bionic Buzz returning to provide award-winning coverage of the event. Prizes and award presentations will take place from local businesses including Gallery Nucleus, KoCreeate, Comic Cellar, Grill ‘Em All, T4 Tea 4 U and more!  NerdBot will also crown the SuperHero Cosplay King and Queen in an epic showdown Saturday at 4pm. 

The festival features musical performances by the band Ragnarock and PopRock Academy will return with their SuperHero Breakdance Battle and Kids SuperHero Costume & Dance Contest.

Top voice actors and animation creators will be doing meet and greets and signings.  Power Rangers, wrestlers and other celebrities will also be appearing on stage!  Look forward to some exciting announcements soon and other surprises!

Come meet SPBH creators at San Diego Comic Con 2014 at Ken Mora’s Bella Fe Films & Entertainment Booth #1532 located in animation alley as they will be special guests everyday at the con from 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM (please note that Steve Sievers will not be there on Sunday) Dahveed and Steve Sievers will be special guests at the booth giving away free signed Supa Pirate Booty Hunt / Music Saves Lives comics books (while supplies last) This two story comic book, supporting the charity Music Saves Lives, pairs Supa Pirate Booty Hunt characters Zack the Pirate & Daniel the Turtle up with celebrites Dave Mustaine of Megadeth, voice of Miko in Transformers Prime Tania Gunadi, and voice over legend Tom Kenny (voice of Ice King in Adventure Time & SpongeBob SquarePants) Can’t make it to the convention? On Monday July 7th at 10:30/9:30 CT on TBS see Supa Pirate Booty Hunt creators on National TV with their friend and voice actor Greg Eagles (voice of Cpt Black Stevers & John McCain in Supa Pirate Booty Hunt). In the episode, the Goodie Mob come to Dahveed Kolodny-Nagy, Greg Eagles, & Steven Sievers at Smorgasbord Productions to produce an original animation for them. You will see plenty of Supa Pirate Booty Hunt artwork & merch in the episode along with other Smorgasbord shows like Teapot & Aunt Minnie Spy Mama.
